Rae Sremmurd's Slim Jimmy feared he would die in stage fall
Rae Sremmurd rapper Slim Jimmy feared he was going to die after falling onstage at New York's Governors Ball music festival on Friday (05Jun15).
The No Flex Zone hitmakers were performing their song Unlock The Swag on the first day of the three-day festival when Slim Jimmy jumped up on a speaker and lost his balance.
He fell on top of a large light fixture, smashing the glass, which
left him with a large gash across his thigh, but instead of cutting
short the set, the rapper encouraged his bandmate and brother Swae
Lee to continue with the show.
Slim Jimmy was taken by ambulance to a local hospital straight
after the Randall's Island gig, and he subsequently underwent
surgery and is now recuperating from the incident.
He tells TMZ Live, "When it happened, I knew it was severe but I
knew I had to get back up on stage - but when I first fell, I felt
like I was gonna die... But I'm good. I'm a soldier. I'm gonna
start performing once these staples come out. I'm gonna get back on
stage in a minute (soon)."
