R&B singer Kyle Norman weds fiancee months after domestic dispute

Jagged Edge singer Kyle Norman has tied the knot with fiancee Marrika Maria, months after she accused him of domestic assault.

The Where the Party At hitmaker was arrested in Atlanta, Georgia in January (15), after Maria accused him of attacking her and attempting to shove her engagement ring down her throat following a heated argument about his alcohol intake.

She was admitted to the Atlanta Medical Center for treatment, while the 38-year-old star was taken into custody and booked for the assault.

But Norman and Maria have since moved on from the bust-up and exchanged vows over the weekend (ends24May15) in a private ceremony in Atlanta.

An insider tells website RollingOut.com that the impromptu nuptials were held over dinner at the Suite Food Lounge ATL, with only close family and friends in attendance. Photos on the website feature the newlyweds showing off their new wedding rings.

Norman tells Rolling Out he is deeply sorry for the pain he's caused his wife, and insists he's ready for a new beginning as he starts a sober and wedded life with Maria.

He says, "We as men have a problem with our apologies. If you make a mistake, own up to it and man up! That's what I had to do to get my queen back. I apologize to my brothers of Jagged Edge, to my family, my wife and my fans and anyone I let down. I let myself down and my family, and for that I apologize. And I got myself some help.

"I don't drink or do drugs anymore and I have changed my entire way of living and thinking. It's never too late to change. I am just happy she has given me this opportunity to spend the rest of my life with her showing her how much I really do love her."

Maria, who is planning to write a book for women who have faced domestic violence, also tells the site that while she is still healing from the incident, she is using the difficult experience to move forward and help others.

She says, "Kyle really does love me and has vowed not to place his hands on me ever again. I am not listening to the naysayers who keep trying to say he doesn't love me and encourage me to leave.

"I will admit, I am in a lot of pain every day, physically. I am on several different pain medications which keep me up. I am not able to get more than three hours of sleep. I'm attending counseling three times per week and I know in my heart that God will help me get through this. I'm blessed to be alive and still have the love and support of my family."
