Queen Latifah has no plans to be the new Oprah Winfrey

Written by . Published: January 16 2012

Queen Latifah wants TV chiefs not to try and make her the new Oprah Winfrey after landing a daytime talk show in America.

The former rapper-turned-actress has landed a deal to host her own syndicated show, but she insists she doesn't want to be pitched as a replacement for the TV titan.

Oprah Winfrey ended her long-running talk show last year (May11) and no one has stepped up to take her place.

Queen Latifah says, "A lot of people came at me when Oprah decided she was gonna retire and it seemed like everyone wanted me to come and take her spot. I just feel like no one can take her spot. Oprah is Oprah."

But she's convinced her new show will be a hit - because she's teaming up with Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith's production company.

She adds, "I think we can find something fun to do every day, something positive and we can win."
