Producers offered Elizabeth Olsen her sisters' role in Full House reboot

Producers of the new Full House reboot asked Avengers: Age of Ultron star Elizabeth Olsen if she'd be interested in replacing her twin sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley, according to show star John Stamos.

The famous siblings, who shared double duty as young Michelle Tanner on the hit 1990s show, are now 29-year-old fashion designers and opted not to be part of the Netflix revival series, so TV bosses asked their sister if she would be interested.

And in an interview with TV personality Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM radio show on Monday (04Jan16), Stamos, who played Tanner's onscreen uncle in Full House, revealed creator and executive producer Jeff Franklin attempted to get the next best thing to the Olsen twins.

"I don’t think this has been talked about... I didn't do it; I think Jeff Franklin did... I said, 'Call the sister. Ask her...' We talked to her agent and her agent was like, 'Come on, she's not going to do that', but we did call her agent."

Fuller House, in which Stamos, Bob Saget, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodi Sweetin, and Lori Loughlin, among others, will reprise their beloved characters, will debut on Netflix on 26 February (16).
