Prince William is heading back to school in 2014 to study agriculture at the U.K's prestigious University of Cambridge.

The Duke of Cambridge, who recently stepped down from his job as a search-and-rescue helicopter pilot, is to take a 10-week course on agricultural management which will involve attending lectures and completing course work.

A spokesman for Kensington Palace says, "It will start in early January and run until mid-March.

"The course has been designed to help provide the Duke with an understanding of contemporary issues affecting agricultural business and rural communities in the United Kingdom."

The royal, who became a first-time father in the summer (13), previously studied art history at St Andrew's University in Scotland.

He graduated in 2005 after meeting his now-wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, while studying at the institution.
