Prince William is giving talented youngsters the chance to break into the entertainment industry by spearheading the launch of a new charity drive by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).

The Duke of Cambridge was at BAFTA's London headquarters on Monday (18Nov13) in his capacity as the organisation's president to launch the organisation's Give Something Back campaign.

The new initiative aims to give young people from all backgrounds the chance to break into the film, television and games industries by providing mentoring schemes, scholarships, lectures and summer work placements.

Speaking at the launch event, the British royal declared, "Today more than ever, young people and career starters need nurture and support to achieve their potential and to succeed. This includes the chance to learn from and work side-by-side with the best in the business.

"Give Something Back is a special opportunity for our supremely talented professionals to offer a small amount of their time or money to contribute to BAFTA's learning program."

Prince William has been President of the Academy since 2010.
