Pitbull declined to perform in Bolivia on Tuesday (23Oct12) amid concerns for fans' safety.

The hip-hop star, real name Armando Cristian Perez, cited fears about the stage set-up when he called off the gig at the Tahuichi stadium in the city of Santa Cruz.

However, local reports suggest the cancellation was made after two of the promoter's employees were arrested.

Taking to his Twitter.com page, Pitbull writes, "Mis amigos (my friends) in Santa Cruz Bolivia - the show 2nite (tonight) had 2 b (to be) cancelled bcuz (because) the stage was not safe 2 perform on and we did not want 2 put any one in harm's way especially our fans... We'll be back and def (definitely) feel bad about not being able 2 perform 4 (for) you 2nite... Nos vemos pronto (see you soon)!"

According to Fox News Latino, Santa Cruz police chief Lily Cortez told reporters two people were arrested at the venue with a loaded gun, a baseball bat and a fake Bolivian police ID badge.
