Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez song named 2014 World Cup anthem

Rapper Pitbull is celebrating after his new duet with Jennifer Lopez was named the official anthem of the 2014 soccer World Cup in Brazil.

The stars will perform We Are One (Ole Ola), which also features Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte, at the soccer championship's opening ceremony in Sao Paulo on 12 June (14), and Pitbull hopes fans will take heed of the message of the song.

The I Know You Want Me hitmaker says, "I truly believe that this great game and the power of music will help unify us, because we are best when we are one."

And Lopez reveals she is flattered by the song honor, adding, "I grew up in a house that loved football, so I am thrilled to be performing at the World Cup Opening Ceremonies with Pitbull and Claudia Leitte. This is an amazing celebration of global unity, competition and the sport."
