Pink hits back at weight gain critics

Pop star Pink has hit back at online trolls who criticised her weight following an appearance at a charity event over the weekend (11-12Apr15), insisting she is "happy and healthy".

The So What hitmaker, real name Alecia Moore, attended a gala for the John Wayne Cancer Institute Auxiliary in Los Angeles on Saturday (11Apr15) with her husband Carey Hart and their daughter Willow.

Pink, who wore a plunging black dress, shared a picture from the night on Twitter.com and added, "Willow said to me the other day whilst grabbing my belly - 'Mama - why r u (are you) so squishy?' And I said... 'B/cuz (because) I'm happy baby'".

Following the post, Pink received a slew of mean messages about her appearance and the singer has now responded by uploading a lengthy note to explain that she is not fazed by the criticism.

She writes, "I can see that some of you are concerned about me from your comments about my weight. You're referring to the pictures of me from last night's cancer benefit that I attended to support my... friend Dr. Maggie DiNome. She was given the Duke Award for her tireless efforts and stellar contributions to the eradication of cancer. But unfortunately, my weight seems much more important to some of you. While I admit that the dress didn't photograph as well as it did in my kitchen, I will also admit that I felt very pretty. In fact, I feel beautiful. So, my good and concerned peoples (sic), please don't worry about (me). I'm not worried about me. And I'm not worried about you either... I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off. Thanks for your concern. Love, cheesecake."
