PETE WENTZ 'HAPPY' FOR ENGAGED JESSICA SIMPSON

Rocker Pete Wentz is delighted over Jessica Simpson's engagement to Eric Johnson, insisting the retired American footballer makes his sister-in-law "genuinely happy".

Jessica Simpson announced her plans to wed Johnson in November (10) and Pete Wentz is overjoyed to see the singer settle down again, following failed romances with rocker John Mayer and footballer Tony Romo.

The bassist, who is married to Ashlee Simpson, tells Eonline.com, "Eric's a really great guy and I think the greatest aspect of Eric is that he makes Jessica genuinely happy. He puts a smile on her face when he's around."

And Pete Wentz reveals he's been bonding well with Eric Johnson: "He's a really easy guy to get along with. Me and him play tennis together and we'll just sit around look at funny videos on the Internet, and so I think he's really good guy and really smart and a great match."
