Bosses of the Pan American Games have insisted rapper Kanye West did not cut his set short due to technical errors during the event's closing ceremony on Sunday night (26Jul15).
Television footage of the ceremony appeared to show the Stronger hitmaker throwing his microphone into the air and storming off the stage after performing for 13 minutes after suffering problems with the device.
It was reported that West was scheduled to perform more songs in his medley at the show in Toronto, Canada but organisers have now spoken out to deny the reports, insisting he did not exit earlier than planned.
Neala Barton, a representative for the 2015 Games, tells Billboard.com, "While there was technical difficulty at the end due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, he rolled with it the way great artists do... To imply that he abruptly cut short his performance or that he was anything less than professional is incorrect. We could not have been more thrilled."
