One Direction gave sick kids in London the shock of their lives on Sunday (15Dec13) when they made a surprise appearance during a charity screening of their film This Is Us.

Officials at the U.K.-based organization The Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity granted the wishes of dozens of young kids who are battling cancer and other illnesses by introducing them to their favorite music group.

The kids and their families were taken to a cinema for a special screening of the group's hit movie, This is Us, but they had no idea the pop idols themselves would be in attendance too.

Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson interrupted the film by walking into the theater with torches, much to the shock of their young fans.

Zayn Malik was not present due to an illness, but his bandmates made up for his absence by happily performing acoustic versions of some of their songs for the amazed crowd, and answered questions from their adoring fans.

Styles joked, "You can ask anything you like - passwords, credit cards, phone numbers."

One boy admitted he wanted to tour with the boyband, and the stars made his day by inviting him to join them on stage, taking the place of missing Malik.

The children were even presented with a One Direction gift bag, which included a T-shirt, watch, and two tickets to the band's upcoming 2014 tour.
