One Direction send video message to rollercoaster crash victim

One Direction have sent a video message to a fan who lost a leg in a horrifying rollercoaster crash in England last week (ends07Jun15).

Leah Washington, 17, and her boyfriend were severely injured when two carriages on The Smiler ride at Britain's Alton Towers resort collided. Washington has been hospitalised ever since, and subsequently had her left leg amputated below the knee.

Due to her hospitalisation, Washington had to miss One Direction's performance in London over the weekend (06-07Jun15) and her friends launched a campaign urging the boyband to pay her a visit.

Singer Louis Tomlinson reached out to Washington with a message on Twitter.com, and now it has emerged his bandmates also sent her a video message and offered her free tickets to a concert.

A spokesman for the band says, "The band have filmed a video message for Leah that she has received... Unfortunately because of their schedule they can't visit her in hospital, but they have offered Leah tickets to a forthcoming concert of her choice when she has recovered, and will be delighted to meet her backstage then."
