Olivia Wilde tapped as face of skincare brand True Botanicals

Olivia Wilde has signed on to be the face of skincare brand True Botanicals.

The Tron: Legacy actress is the first celebrity to officially endorse the California-based cosmetics company, and will appear in upcoming campaigns and act as a "chief brand activist".

Olivia previously worked as a Revlon beauty ambassador from 2011 until the end of 2016, but is thrilled to now be fronting a brand that truly aligns with her passion for natural and sustainable products.

"Everyone is a part of it for the right reasons," she told WWD. "It's a very different experience than working for Revlon, which is a massive global brand and has a legacy, (unlike) something new and trying to change the game like True Botanicals."

Olivia has taken a greater interest in using non-toxic brands since welcoming her children, Otis, three, and seven-month-old Daisy, with fiance Jason Sudeikis. And she claims to have long been a fan of True Botanicals, due to the products targeting specific issues such as acne or wrinkles.

"People assume these non-toxic, natural products are beautiful and lovely and they smell great and you feel pious using them, but that they aren't actually going to solve the problems you have... (True Botanicals) actually addresses specific issues," she explained.

Meanwhile, True Botanicals' chief executive officer Christina Mace-Turner shared that she is delighted to welcome the star to the team. She added that Olivia takes her role very seriously and that the deal came about in an organic way.

"We're part of a growing number of businesses thinking about sustainable practices and changing the norms in our industry. Olivia completely got what we were doing and it felt like a very natural partnership," said Christina.
