Olivia Munn ended up paying for her Ocean's Eight cameo

Olivia Munn had to pay to have a cameo role in Ocean's Eight.

The X-Men: Apocalypse star is just one of the famous faces in the movie's Met Gala scene, which also sees appearances from stars including Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner. However, Olivia admits the measly pay for the role and the requirement that she provide her own glam squad for the gig meant that the role actually left her out of pocket.

"It actually cost me money to be part of Ocean’s Eight," Olivia admitted during an interview on Entertainment Weekly radio. "They’re like, ‘Do your own glam,’ and I got the dress and all that and then you submit the bills for it because I’m part of your movie.

“And then they’re (the producers) like, ‘Oh no, the bills come right back to you.'"

It's unclear whether or not the other stars of the Met Gala scene had similar situations with their pay or lack thereof.

But Olivia isn't holding a grudge, admitting she's "just as excited about it (seeing the film) as everybody else".

Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna and Awkwafina star as the heist team in the upcoming movie, which is set for release next year (18).

The film, directed and co-written by Gary Ross, will also feature appearances from Katie Holmes, Damian Lewis and Matt Damon, who reprises his role as Linus Caldwell from the George Clooney-led Ocean's trilogy.

The first film in the series, 2001's Ocean's Eleven, was itself a remake of the 1960 Frank Sinatra movie of the same name.

Olivia certainly isn't the only famous face to have earned pittance for a movie role. It recently emerged that Rebel Wilson was paid just $3,000 for her role in 2010 romcom Bridesmaids, which went on to gross $288.4 million at the worldwide box office.
