Noel Gallagher and David Beckham hail Stone Roses

Rocker Noel Gallagher and David Beckham are among the stars who have shared their love for the Stone Roses in a special gig brochure.

The Fools Gold hitmakers set a record for the fastest-selling concerts in the U.K. when their three Heaton Park comeback dates in Manchester, England sold out in less than an hour last October (11), and their first show takes place on Friday (29Jun12).

Editors at Britain's The Sun have obtained a copy of the reformed group's commemorative programme, which features Stone Roses salutes from former Oasis rocker Gallagher, Take That singer Mark Owen, artist Damien Hirst and sports star Beckham.

Beckham, who once played for revered U.K. soccer club Manchester United, reveals his favourite track is I Am The Resurrection and adds, "The Stone Roses was part of my upbringing in Manchester. And being an East End (London) boy, that's saying something.

"Their music has inspired so many people but for me it brings back memories of the most happiest time in my football career, when I started my career at Manchester United. The fact that they are back is incredible to see."

Hirst declares, "The Stone Roses are more important than Picasso."
