Nikki Blonsky engaged

Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky is planning a wedding after becoming engaged last month (Jan16).

The actress' boyfriend, Christopher Salute, popped the question on New Year's Eve (31Dec15) and they rang in 2016 as an engaged couple, but Blonsky kept the news a secret until now.

She took to Instagram.com on Monday (15Feb16) and shared a collage of photos from the night she became engaged, including a candid shot of Salute down on one knee.

Blonsky added the caption, "At the stroke of Midnight on New Years Eve the man of my dreams, the one I love with all my heart asked me to marry him and spend the rest of our lives together forever as one. I am thrilled to say I yelled 'YES'.

"I love you @doctorsalute and I look forward to going through the journey of life together and having a blast laughing and loving along the way! I love you!"
