Nicole Scherzinger's Twitter hacked... by Simon Cowell
Nicole Scherzinger's Twitter account was hacked by her The X Factor boss Simon Cowell on Tuesday (14Jun16).
The pair, along with fellow judges Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh, are currently traveling the U.K. looking for talented singers to appear on the ITV show.
As they searched in Manchester, England, on Tuesday, Nicole
inadvertently left her mobile phone unattended on the judges' desk.
And music mogul Simon decided to seize the opportunity to post some
hilarious messages that appeared to be from Nicole.
The first read: "I am so beautiful", which was followed by, "I
really am". Simon continued his pranking when he then wrote on
Nicole's account: "I want to eat some mango. Now".
Around 15 minutes later, another tweet appeared which read: "I
DEMAND YOU TELL ME I AM GORGEOUS".
While some fans obliged, others realized Nicole's account had been
compromised and raised the alarm. It was thought that Nicole could
have been the latest victim of the hacker who has been taking over
the Twitter accounts of celebrities such as Lana Del Rey and Cody
Simpson.
However, the 37-year-old later revealed the identity of her hacker
was none other than Simon.
"The culprit. Lesson learned, never leave your phone unattended in
the presence of @simoncowell #twitter #highjacked," Nicole wrote
alongside a picture of her pointing at a sheepish but smug looking
Simon.
Nicole's X Factor comeback has been marred with controversy,
following theater boss Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber alleging that she
pulled out of Cats on Broadway to return to the panel of the talent
show.
"A week before we were going to go into rehearsal with Cats on
Broadway, which luckily I'm not producing, she calls me and says
she's decided she wants to do X Factor, having agreed everything,"
he told The Economist Radio. "I mean, she's crazy. But the American
producers just took a view, they said, 'Well, fine, we'll get
somebody else', because she's actually not very well known in
America amazingly. She's much better known here...
"I'm furious because I really believe she's the most fantastically
talented girl and I went out on a limb to get her for the London
Palladium here, and it makes me look like an absolute twot (sic)
with them all... But never mind, there'll be another girl on
Broadway and Nicole will not get her Tony Award."
Nicole later insisted she hadn't finalized her contract to do Cats.
Former X Factor winner Leona Lewis has now been cast in the
role.
