Nick Lachey's weekend with his son started with a bloody mess

Singer-turned-U.S. TV personality Nick Lachey's "daddy day care weekend" started on a bloody note on Saturday (03May14) when his son tripped and cut his lip.

The pop star's actress wife Vanessa Minnillo and their nanny flew to Los Angeles and left the former 98 Degrees star alone with 19-month-old son Camden in New York.

Lachey says, "We got off to a little bit of a rocky start... Within about 20 minutes of him being awake, he tripped over my foot and fell and cut his lip open.

"At first he had a little blood blister on his lip and I'm thinking, 'Oh man, if Vanessa comes home and sees him with a blood blister on his face, I am going to pay'. But I calmed him down and he quickly got over that."
