NICK JONAS TO TOUR WITH NEW BAND

Nick Jonas is taking a break from his siblings in the new year (10) to embark on a month-long tour with his new band The Administration.

The 16 year old confirmed reports he'd formed an offshoot group from the Jonas Brothers earlier this year (09), which he's set to debut at the Grammy Nominations Concert Live on Wednesday (02Dec09).

And now he's confirmed the Jonas Brothers will be on hiatus for at least a month after he hits the road solo in January (10) with a series of gigs due to kick off in Dallas, Texas on 02 January and end in Berkeley, California on 30 January.

In a statement Jonas says, "With this tour we're going to try to accomplish the same thing we did in the studio. That's capturing some heart and soul in the music, and having fun doing it."

And Jonas' brothers, Joe and Kevin, quickly dismissed any rumours of a rift, taking to their Twitter.com page to pledge their support for their sibling, writing "(We are) so excited about all the upcoming things for Nick and his new side project!"
