Nick Carter's family to reunite late father and daughter in ashes ceremony

Aaron and Nick Carter's father will be reunited posthumously with the singers' late sister as their ashes are scattered off the coast of Florida.

Family patriarch Robert Carter, known as Bob, died on Tuesday night (16May17) after suffering a suspected heart attack at the age of 65.

Sources tell TMZ.com his family members are now planning to honor his final wishes and have his body cremated.

They will then take his ashes, and those of his daughter Leslie, who died from a drug overdose in 2012, aged 25, and spread them in the Gulf of Mexico, by the Florida Keys, as part of a private memorial ceremony later this year (17).

Backstreet Boys star Nick took to Twitter after the news of his father's death broke on Wednesday (17May17), and expressed his grief in a post which read: "I am heartbroken to share the news that our father, Robert, passed away last night... While we learn more about the cause of death, and begin the grieving process, we ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time."

Fellow singer Aaron Carter, 29, also mourned the loss on social media.

"My heart is Completly shattered I'm in shock and I loved my dad so much (sic)," he posted. "#RIP DADDY I Love You."
