Nick Cannon 'highly doubts' he'll marry again
Comedian and TV host Nick Cannon "highly doubts" he will wed again after his failed union with ex-wife Mariah Carey.
The Hero singer split from the actor and entrepreneur in 2014 after six years of marriage, and they finalized their divorce last April (15). Nick recently declared he is single and celibate, and insisted he's not yet ready for a new romance - and now he's gone so far to say he doesn't believe he'll exchange vows with anyone ever again.
"I feel like marriage isn't for everyone," he tells DuJour
magazine. "A friend of mine put it the funniest way; he said, 'If
you heard that there was a 50/50 chance of living or dying when you
jump out of a plane, you probably wouldn’t go skydiving.' There’s,
like, a 50/50 chance of a marriage working. If it didn’t work out
for you the first time, and you still survived it, you probably
shouldn’t do it again."
Meanwhile, Nick and Mariah have stayed friends, mainly for the sake
of their four-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, who are having a
much more public upbringing in the spotlight than other kids their
age.
"I don’t see a problem with them being different and having an
eccentric upbringing," Nick says. "It’s fascinating and fantastic.
But it’s about teaching them humility more than anything. Teaching
them to be respectful - to make eye contact and say 'Yes, ma'am'
and 'Yes, sir'. You can still be a diva and be humble. Mariah is a
perfect example of that."
