Nick Cannon denies writing tracks about Mariah Cary split

Written by . Published: December 30 2014

Nick Cannon has dismissed reports suggesting he plans to detail his split from Mariah Carey in tracks for his upcoming album.

The couple parted ways in August (14) after six years of marriage, and Cannon is adamant they remain on good terms.

Reports which surfaced this week (beg29Dec14) suggested Cannon is preparing to record a new album featuring candid tracks about the marriage breakdown, but the rapper/actor insists he will not be sharing his personal pain.

In a series of posts on Twitter.com, he writes, "I will never say anything negative about Mariah Carey. We are forever a family rooted in love... I am always an open book but personal matters are just that 'personal'. So please respect my family and respect the process... In other words, all you vultures and bottom feeders searching for a story can go choke yourself... I have no problem being painted as the bad guy. I got tough skin. Keep going! I just pray we all can move forward in the new year."

The former couple is parents to three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe.
