Newly mature John Mayer is looking for love

John Mayer is "more mature" than he's ever been.

The 38-year-old singer is as famous for his string of celebrity exes as he is his music career, and counts Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Minka Kelly among his former loves. In an interview on Watch What Happens Live on Tuesday (28Jun16), the Lothario admitted that he's ready for a new relationship.

"I'm ready to roll, I'm more mature than I've ever been," he said. "The stage is set but I'm excited for a meet cute at some point. I'm single and I'm excited about the future."

John has been alone since splitting from Roar singer Katy in September last year (15) after a three year on-off relationship. Katy is now happily dating actor Orlando Bloom. And it seems John's former loves finding happiness with actors is something of a theme, as Taylor recently debuted her romance with The Night Manager star Tom Hiddleston.

It remains to be seen which star John will set his sights on next. But one he admits he finds "sexy as ever" is 74-year-old Barbra Streisand, with whom he worked with in 2014 as the pair teamed up on song Come Rain Or Come Shine.

John appeared on Andy Cohen's chat show alongside Dead & Company bandmate Bob Weir. During their interview, John and Bob agreed to answer questions from fans, with one asking John why he makes a "sexual face" while playing the guitar.

"I don’t mean to do the guitar face," John confessed. "Not only (am I) lost in the music, I'm worried about falling off the bike! It's a pained sexual face."

John also revealed he is hoping to have a solo album ready for fans in the near future. He is wants to release the record "early next year (17)", adding: "I’m almost done with it. I have to finish some vocals and then just mix it and it’s ready to go."
