Supermodel Naomi Campbell was honored with a traditional Japanese tea ceremony on Saturday (30Nov13) in recognition of her generous donation to the country's tsunami relief fund.

The British beauty was left heartbroken by the natural disaster, which devastated the coast of Japan in 2011 and claimed more than 15,000 lives.

While in Sydney, Australia to launch the country's version of her modeling TV show The Face, Campbell was invited to the Japanese Consul-General's residence, where officials held a tea ceremony in her honor.

The special event was in response to the star donating more than $300,000 to the tsunami relief effort through her charity, Fashion for Relief.

Campbell says, "I'm so grateful to be able to experience this traditional tea ceremony. Japan has been a big part of my career. I want to see Japan come back on its feet and, even though we are a little late, I think we still have ongoing progress even though it is not in the headlines."
