Multiple sclerosis has robbed Jamie-Lynn Sigler of the ability to run

Actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler's multiple sclerosis battle has robbed her of simple pleasures - like running.

The former The Sopranos star opened up about her health issues last month (Jan16), revealing she kept her MS diagnosis secret for almost 15 years, because she feared she'd lose work in Hollywood is she went public with her condition.

Jamie-Lynn was diagnosed with the degenerative disorder, which affects the nervous system, when she was just 20 years old.

She revealed all in a candid Today show interview in America, and now the 34-year-old is opening up further about the things her health issues won't let her do.

"I have weakness in my right side and I can't run," she told Access Hollywood. "It's so hard for me... The very last time I can remember running was the final scene in the The Sopranos."

During the scene in question, Jamie-Lynn's character, Meadow Soprano, ran across a street to join her family for dinner at a diner.

"It's literally the last time I can remember feeling that freedom in my body."

And she admits her MS impacts on her efforts as a mom to two-year-old son Beau.

"It's a lot for any mom," she added. "I do my best... If I take him to the park, I usually take him to a park that's enclosed so I just don't have to worry about him running off... I do everything that any other mom does.

"I anticipate and think about all the time what and how I will tell him one day. I think when the time comes and he needs to know, I'm not gonna use the word 'sick', because I think that instills fear in a child and I don't feel sick all the time and I don't want him to think that way.

"I'm just gonna explain that this is something mommy has and it doesn't let her do certain things that she wants to do with her body sometimes, but it doesn't mean that mommy can't do everything with you."

Jamie-Lynn reveals her son actually gave her so much of her old life back, because she went into a strange remission after falling pregnant.

"It is a beautiful and wild and crazy thing that happens," she recalled. "It's an amazing thing to get pregnant when you have MS. I was hiking with my dog (when I was) nine months pregnant, and those are things I can't do now."
