The producers and creators of hit TV comedy Modern Family are celebrating the show's upcoming gay wedding episode by covering the costs of all New Yorkers exchanging vows at the City Clerk's office on Monday (12May14).

The executives have announced they'll foot the bill for all marriage licenses and wedding ceremonies on Monday, ahead of the big TV nuptials, which will air over the next two Wednesdays (14May14 and 21May14).

Modern Family couple Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, whose characters will be exchanging vows on the show, announced the big news during an appearance on breakfast show Good Morning America on Monday.

They revealed that their bosses will cover the costs for anyone applying to get married or actually tying the knot between 8.30am and 3.45pm.
