Miley Cyrus dons panda suit for surprise appearance on late night show

Miley Cyrus ended a day-long takeover of TV network NBC on Wednesday (17May17) by joining late-night host Jimmy Fallon as a dancing panda.

The pop star donned the show's Hashtag the Panda suit and danced onto the stage during the host's opening monologue, before taking off her head to reveal Miley underneath.

She told Fallon she had been donning the panda suit for "a few months" so she could work on her dance moves for her new single Malibu.

Miley promoted the track on NBC's live news shows throughout the day, including surprise visits to the Today studio and Access Hollywood Live, which is filming in New York this week.

The Wrecking Ball singer was spotted in amongst the crowd as she stopped by Access Hollywood Live, holding balloons and a sign promoting her new release.

Miley isn't the only star to have worn the Hashtag the Panda suit - Ben Stiller and Chris Rock have also tried it on for size.

After her quick chat with Fallon, she put her panda head back on and danced offstage.

She then emerged on Late Night With Seth Meyers, taking over as the leader of the host's 8G Band for an instrumental take on her new single.
