Melissa McCarthy broke down at the sight of her Tammy billboard

Actress Melissa Mccarthy almost caused a traffic pile-up on a busy Los Angeles street after spotting the first big billboard for her new comedy Tammy.

The Bridesmaids star was driving past the Warner Bros. lot recently when she caught sight of her face plastered across the side of a building, and spiralled into an emotional meltdown.

The actress, who co-wrote the film with her husband and movie director Ben Falcone, tells Us Weekly magazine, "Nobody told me they had put up a massive one (billboard). I started completely bawling and freaking out. I slammed on my brakes, swerved and tried to pull over. Other drivers were screaming at me, and I thought, 'Oh, God, what if they see it's all because I'm looking at my own picture?' I just sat there and stared at it.

"I called Ben and he actually came to meet me. We were so dorky, we tried to do a 'selfie' in front of it! Some sweet girl was walking by and said, 'Do you want me to take your picture?'"
