British popstar Melanie Brown is offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who can help catch the thief who broke into her car in the early hours of Friday morning (25Nov16).

The former Spice Girl took to Instagram on Friday to post CCTV footage of the incident, which shows a man smashing in the rear window of her car and making off with two suitcases.

The robbery allegedly occurred outside the Beverly Hills home of the America's Got Talent judge, and Mel has urged her followers to contact her husband Stephen Belafonte if they have any information.

"I have a 5 thousand dollar reward to anyone who no's (sic) this a**hole, I don't care who was involved I want this guy caught," Mel captioned the first video she posted on Instagram.

"At 542am last night this scum bag did this to my car DM my husband @stephenthinks11 we will wire you the monies for turning him in, the police are investigating but I need your help NOW right on my own door step in Los Angeles Beverly Hills."

She later posted a second video on the social media site, in which a car can be seen driving up toward the house and briefly stopping, before driving out of sight of the CCTV camera.

"Neighbor by neighbor (sic) we are going to track you down the police already have a good idea who you are, but in the meantime anybody who wants to make that $5000 DM my hubby right now @stephenthinks11," Mel wrote alongside the video.

It is not known if the 41-year-old, or her three children Phoenix, 17, Angel, nine, and five-year-old Madison were at home at the time of the incident.

Mel has not yet revealed what was in the suitcases, and the total value of the items allegedly stolen has not been released.

Police have not yet commented on the incident.
