Meg Ryan lands narrator role on How I Met Your Mother spin-off

Actress Meg Ryan is heading to the small screen to narrate the new How I Met Your Mother spin-off series, How I Met Your Dad.

The Sleepless in Seattle star has been cast as the future version of main character, Sally, played by Greta Gerwig, according to Deadline.com.

In the series, Future Sally will recall to her kids the story of how she met their father.

Comedian Bob Saget voiced Future Ted in all nine seasons of How I Met Your Mother.

Ryan has had a number of recurring guest spots on TV, but How I Met Your Dad marks her first major prime-time TV series regular role.
