Rocker Meat Loaf has cleared up the myth surrounding the lyrics of his song I'd Do Anything For Love, revealing what he won't do.

For years fans have studied the 1993 rock ballad for clues regarding what Meat Loaf means when he sings "...but I won't do that", and now he explains the answer is in the lyrics.

Asked about the "that" in the hit during an interview for Yahoo! Screen, the singer admits he can't believe fans didn't figure out what he won't do for love in Jim Steinman's lyrics.

He says, "When we were recording it, Jim brings up this thing and says, 'People aren't gonna know what 'that' is'. I said, 'Of course they are, how can they not know what 'that' is?'

"It's the line before every chorus - 'I'll never stop dreaming of you every night of my life;' there's nine of them.

"Jimmy likes to write, so you forget what the line was before you get to 'I won't do that'."
