Mathew Knowles plotting Destiny's Child play with Idris Elba

Beyonce's father Mathew Knowles is planning to turn the rise of Destiny'S Child into a theater production with Idris Elba portraying him onstage.

Mathew served as the R&B group's longtime manager, helping to establish the Independent Women hitmakers as one of the biggest female bands of all time.

Now he is working on adapting his memories of Destiny's Child's rise to superstardom into a play, which he hopes to tour around Europe before hitting the stage in the U.S.

Asked what his new project will be, Mathew told Houston, Texas' Fox 26 newsman Jonathan Martin, "A play about the story of DC (Destiny's Child), from my eyes."

He stopped short of sharing specific details about the stage show, but Martin claims Beyonce's dad has already pegged British actor Idris to play the role of Mathew.

The Thor and Luther star has yet to comment on the apparent casting news, while Beyonce and her Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams have also remained silent on the proposed project.

The group started as a quartet in 1997 with Beyonce, Kelly, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett, only for the latter two to be replaced with Michelle and Farrah Franklin, who quit months after she was hired in 2000. Destiny's Child continued as a trio and called it quits in 2006.

Meanwhile, Mathew used the TV interview to clear up unfounded rumors about his relationship with Beyonce, amid recent claims suggesting the heavily pregnant star has banned her father from the delivery room when she gives birth to twins.

The music manager insists his relationship with Beyonce and her sister Solange is still "loving", after overcoming a rift caused by his infidelity, which resulted in the birth of another child during his marriage to the stars' mother, Tina.

"I communicate with my daughters weekly," he said. "I don't care what people say..."

Addressing the delivery room ban reports, he declared, "That's a lie. There's a difference between a rumor and a lie... That's a bold lie."

And Mathew made it clear he won't stand for malicious falsities about his famous family, adding, "I just want them (reporters) to say the wrong thing now and I'm gonna see them in court!"
