Mariah Carey suffers wardrobe malfunction at first Las Vegas show
Mariah Carey brushed off an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction as she kicked off her Las Vegas residency on Wednesday night (06May15).
The Hero hitmaker debuted her Mariah #1 to Infinity show at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace and ran through all 18 of her chart-topping hits in chronological order, including Hero, Dreamlover and We Belong Together.
She kicked off with her first number one, 1990 single Vision of
Love, arriving onstage in a glittering gown on a moving platform
between two giant butterflies.
Carey changed costume seven times throughout the two-hour set and
suffered a minor wardrobe malfunction when the back of a revealing
jewelled minidress came undone. Carey continued to talk to the
audience as two members of staff ran onstage to secure the
dress.
The pop diva also descended into the crowd during Always Be My Baby
and was mobbed by fans, prompting security guards to step in and
pull her back to the stage.
Her onstage props included a bed, a pink convertible car and a
bright yellow jetski, and she received multiple standing ovations
from the audience.
Carey ended the night with her first ever live performance of new
single Infinity.
After the show, the singer posted a video on Instagram.com showing
her and her crew toasting the night with glasses of Champagne. She
wrote in the caption, "Cheers!! Opening night!! Thank you
everyone!!! #1toInfinity"
Carey is scheduled to perform three nights a week in May (15) and
July (15).
