Mariah Carey signs rap kingpin Chris Chambers as new PR

Mariah Carey has bounced back from a split from her longtime publicist by signing up with the man who once represented hip-hop heavyweights Drake and Lil Wayne.

A day after Cindi Berger announced she was stepping down as the R&B diva's PR, Carey has recruited power player Chris Chambers to cover her media presence and public image issues.

Carey has also hired new managers - TV producers Brian Sher and Stella Bulochnikov.

Sher previously worked as rapper T.I.'s acting manager, and famously landed his client in trouble when he and another TV producer were present on T.I.'s bus, violating furlough conditions immediately following the rap star's last stint behind bars. T.I. was reportedly sent back to prison for travelling to a halfway house in a luxury bus.

Carey's new representation moves come a month before she begins a Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace on 6 May (15).

Reports suggest the singer is also planning a new Christmas album and a festive film.
