Mariah Carey dedicates song to kids at stage comeback
Mariah Carey was desperate to bring her babies onstage at her first concert since becoming a mum - but the twins were fast asleep.
The pop superstar headlined a free gig at New York's Gotham Hall on Thursday (01Mar12), marking her first performance since giving birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe in April (11).
Carey sang a selection of her hits including It's Like That and
I'll Be There, and even told fans she had planned to show off her
kids to the crowd.
She explained, "It's my first performance since having 'dem
babies'! Do you love them babies? Cause I do... I really wanted to
bring them here tonight, but Monroe is sometimes shy and takes a
while to warm up to an audience. Rock 'n' roll! Nah, but it's late.
It's time for them to be asleep."
Carey, whose last live performances took place in late 2010, then
dedicated her track Always Be My Baby to her kids.
