Mariah Carey bounces back from bronchitis for Billboard rehearsals

Mariah Carey left her sick bed to attend rehearsals for the upcoming Billboard Music Awards, but she was scolded by her musical director for breaking vocal rest imposed by her doctor.

The singer had to cancel a concert just one week into her Las Vegas residency after coming down with bronchitis, and she was ordered to rest her voice to make sure she is better for her next show on Saturday (16May15).

Carey returned to public life on Thursday (14May15) to attend rehearsals for the upcoming 2015 Billboard Music Awards, which take place in Sin City on Sunday (17May15), and she posted a video on her Instagram.com page which shows her with her musical director James 'Big Jim' Wright.

In the clip, he scolds Carey for breaking the rules by talking, and she playfully interrupts him.

He says, "Shhh... She's on vocal rest right now. I demand it as her music director. I demand she stop talking right now."

The singer posted the video with the caption, "At rehearsals for the (Billboard Music Awards) #notalking #nosinging #whispering (sic)."
