Mariah Carey and new boyfriend take spiritual trip to Jerusalem

Mariah Carey's new romance with Australian billionaire James Packer took a spiritual turn on Monday (29Jun15) when the couple was spotted at one of the world's most holy places, Jerusalem's Western Wall.

The pop star and her boyfriend took a break from their European yacht vacation and headed for Israel, after Carey reportedly told the entertainment mogul she had never visited the Holy Land.

A source tells E! News the diva donned a modest black gown and a head scarf for the visit to the pilgrimage site, also known to tourists as the Wailing Wall, where the faithful gather to pray.

The insider says, "It was important to James that he took Mariah to the Western Wall for the first time. She has been all over the world but never to Israel... It was a very romantic moment for the two of them.

"There is only one place at the Western Wall where men and women can stand together and it was meaningful for him to take her there so that they could share this very intimate moment as a couple."

Packer, Carey and her twins Moroccan and Monroe have been spotted all over Europe on their yachting vacation.
