Singer and actress Mandy Moore hired a psychic to find out why her cat was crying all night.
The star recently moved after splitting up with ex-husband Ryan Adams, and told chat show host Ellen DeGeneres her pet really seemed to struggle with life in the new place.
"I gave him different food, I fed him late, I fed him early, I closed the door, I left the door open," she said. "I tried everything because, I mean, it was like a baby keeping us up all night."
"My last resort was, I had a friend who'd had a difficult period with his dog and he called a pet psychic. So I was like, 'I'm calling a pet psychic...'"
The 'cat whisperer' told the Have A Little Faith in Me singer her furry friend didn't like his name, Addison - inspired by Bruce Willis' character in the 1980s TV show Moonlighting.
"She (psychic) said, 'He hates his name and the reason he's crying all night is because he loves the acoustics in the apartment and he loves to hear himself sing," Mandy recalled. "So he would love for you to change his name, and he loves the name Fig, like Figaro, because he loves to sing'.
"I kid you not, we started calling him Figaro, and it stopped. It stopped immediately, the crying at night. It's crazy."
