Man accused of stalking Keira Knightley pleads guilty

A man has admitted to stalking actress Keira Knightley and making repeated trips to her north London home.

Mark Revill, 49, appeared in court on Monday (21Nov16) accused of making the Pirates of the Caribbean star suffer "alarm and distress" by bombarding her with hand-delivered letters, writing in chalk on the street outside of her home, sending her a memory stick containing cat-themed music and cat pictures and making meowing noises through her letterbox.

On one occasion, Revill was allegedly chased away by her husband, The Klaxons musician James Righton, who confronted the man about his behavior, and on another, he stood outside her property for an hour without making any contact.

Revill was charged with stalking the actress between August and October (16) and he entered a guilty plea at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court in London on Monday. The charge states, "The defendant pursued a course of conduct which amounted to the stalking of Keira Knightley and which knew or ought to have known amounted to the harassment of her."

"The first point of contact was a chalk drawing on the pavement, an arrow pointing directly at her front door," Prosecutor Simms Khan said, according to MailOnline.

After receiving no response from his handposted letters, Revill "then goes to her address, lifts up the letter box and makes meowing sounds - Ms Knightley's husband then chases Mr Revill to confront him about the allegations.

"It makes the victim uncomfortable, she sees him outside, goes away and continues her day, comes back and he's still outside... Now she's feeling quite apprehensive but there is no direct contact."

Revill had admitted to police he was in love with the actress while his lawyer said he was a music composer who wanted to get a celebrity to promote his work.

He isn't the first person accused of stalking the mother-of-one. Marek Daniluk walked free from court in 2010 because the actress couldn't attend hearings to give evidence due to filming commitments.
