Madonna titillates with joke Met Gala bandage outfit

Madonna put the organizers of Monday night's (05May14) Costume Institute Gala in New York on high alert hours before the red carpet opened by suggesting she would show up wearing nothing but a thin layer of bandages.

The Material Girl, who has made a habit of shocking with her fashion choices at the annual Met Gala, took to her Instagram.com page as she prepared for her big night out and revealed what she was planning wear.

The pop superstar's ensemble featured what appeared to be a loose-fitting mummy outfit, which left her breasts fully exposed.

Over the image, she posted a red label which read: "Censored", and captioned the photo: "What i wanted to wear to Met Ball but Anna said Not this year! So I'm gonna work on music instead?"

Anna is a reference to Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who oversees the Met Gala.

Meanwhile, a male streaker kicked off this year's Met Gala when he attempted to gatecrash the red carpet.

The unnamed exhibitionist was wearing nothing but a pink mankini and a gold chain.
