Luke Bryan leads American Country Countdown Awards nominations
Luke Bryan is poised to dominate the American Country Countdown Awards after scoring seven nominations.
The Kick the Dust Up singer will compete for the Artist of the Year title against Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean and Sam Hunt, while all four of those solo singers are up for Male Vocalist of the Year against Thomas Rhett.
Bryan also landed nods for Album of the Year (Kill the Lights),
Digital Song of the Year (Kick the Dust Up), Touring Artist of the
Year, and two nominations in the Song of the Year category for
Strip It Down and Home Alone Tonight, his duet with Little Big
Town's Karen Fairchild.
Also up for Song of the Year are the Brothers Osborne (Stay a
Little Longer), Thomas Rhett (Die A Happy Man), and Zac Brown Band
(Homegrown), while the Album of the Year title will be a fight
between Carrie Underwood's Storyteller, Chris Stapleton's Traveler,
Sam Hunt's Montevallo and Jekyll + Hyde by the Zac Brown Band.
Underwood is also up for Female Vocalist of the Year, alongside
Cam, Jana Kramer, Kelsea Ballerini and Miranda Lambert, while Zac
Brown Band's fourth nomination is in the Group/Duo of the Year
category, vying for the prize against A Thousand Horses, Dan +
Shay, Florida Georgia Line, and Old Dominion.
Bryan, who co-hosted the ACM Awards in Las Vegas at the weekend
(03Apr16), Rhett, Underwood, and Florida Georgia Line are all
slated to perform at the prizegiving on 1 May (16) at Los Angeles'
The Forum.
The ACC Awards, based on the long-running radio program hosted by
country star Kix Brooks, had its inaugural show in 2014, but the
ceremony was skipped last year (15).
