Rapper/actor Ludacris gave sick children in his native Atlanta, Georgia a reason to smile over the weekend (03-04Sep16) by hosting a special advance screening of animated comedy Storks.

The Furious 7 star teamed up with officials at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and the Hughes Spalding Community Board to organise the event for 100 kids and their families over the Labor Day holiday.

Usher's ex-wife, Tameka Foster, was also invited to attend with their two boys, Naviyd and Usher, as was Ne-Yo's ex, Monyetta Shaw, who took their two children Maddie and Mason to join in the fun, reports the New York Post.

The screening of upcoming film Storks, featuring characters voiced by Andy Samberg, Jennifer Aniston, and Kelsey Grammer, was among a number of charity events Ludacris hosted in Atlanta over the Labor Day weekend and he is grateful to be able to give back to his local community.

"Few things make me happier than sharing my success and good fortune with family, friends and the Atlanta community," he explained. "The smiles on their faces make me want to do more and more."

Ludacris has a habit of turning the Labor Day holiday into an annual fundraising initiative - dubbed Ludaday Weekend - to boost donations for his Ludacris Foundation youth charity.

This year's festivities included the Ludaday Block Party at the city's Morehouse College, a celebrity golf tournament, and an all-star basketball game, in which Ludacris and his pals faced off against Rick Ross' team, which included fellow rapper Wale and professional athlete Metta World Peace.

Ludacris documented the weekend on social media, and took to Instagram after the basketball game to reveal his team had lost.

"So of course he's smiling cause his team won by 3 points," the gracious loser captioned a snap of himself and Ross. "damn good game though. Preciate (sic) the love @richforever #ludadaybasketballgame #ludadayweekend2016 we do it for the kids!! #givingback".
