Louis Tomlinson plays down TV show rumour

One Direction have denied they've been lined up to star in a Monkees-style TV show, blaming confusion over an upcoming awards ceremony.

The What Makes You Beautiful hitmakers were rumoured earlier this month (Mar12) to have signed up to front a new comedy programme on children's network Nickelodeon.

But singer Louis Tomlinson has played down the reports, insisting the confusion stems from their planned appearance at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards next month (Apr12).

He tells British radio show In Demand with Alex James, "Yeah, funnily enough I think there must have been some misunderstanding... We are doing the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, but as far as a TV show goes we haven't sat down and had that conversation and to be honest, if it was up to me personally, I just want to focus on the music for now. I think there must have been some kind of misunderstanding there."
