Lorde scavenges for leftover clothes

Pop star Lorde scavenges for old clothes to fill her closet as part of a recycling drive in her native New Zealand.

The Royals singer revealed she participates in the annual green initiative during which participants leave unwanted products - dubbed 'inorganics' by organisers - in a big pile outside their home for others to rummage around in.

Lorde has confessed she is a huge fan of scavenging for clothes and household furniture from the leftovers, but admits she find it "so embarrassing" because she gets recognised "every single time".

She tells Britain's Stella magazine, "My favourite thing to do is trawl the inorganics... It stays on the street for a few days and then it's collected and put into a landfill somewhere. But people drive around and go through other people's household rubbish. And, honestly, I've gotten amazing furniture, shoes, hats, jackets. I did this three weeks ago! Recognised every single time. So embarrassing!"
