Rapper Ll Cool J is curating his own hip hop radio channel on SiriusXM.

Rock the Bells Radio will launch next year and feature music and interviews from hip hop artists over the decades. The name of the channel is inspired by LL's hit single from his debut album Radio.

"It's going to be a place where the (originators) can share their legacy and the (new rappers) can actually meet and learn about the (originators)," he told chat show The Talk on Thursday (16Nov17). "You'll be able to ride in the car with your kids and actually enjoy that music that you grew up on and at the same time they'll be able to learn a little something."

"So it's going to be a real cool kind of hybrid, because most of the time when you think of millennials or the new school they're like, 'Oh let's try it this way,' and the originators are kind of like, 'Oh, well I remember when...' This will be a nice hybrid where we can unify the generations as opposed to dividing them."
