Lindsay Lohan 'threatened with legal action over movie promotion'

A filmmaker is demanding Lindsay Lohan and her associate return his $10,000 after allegedly failing to honour their deal and promote his movie.

Filmmaker Matt Martin claims he gave The Parent Trap actress $10,000 to promote his movie Little Mermaid, not to be confused with the Disney version, on her Instagram page.

Martin alleges he made an arrangement with Yossi Bechor, who often sets up deals on Lindsay's behalf, in October (15) for the actress to post three promotional messages about his film in exchange for the money and an executive producer credit, according to TMZ.com.

However, Lindsay reportedly failed to post any publicity within three months, so Martin contacted them about the issue but no progress was made. He has now fired off a legal letter to Lindsay and Yossi demanding he receives his money back or he will file a lawsuit.

This legal trouble comes amid a difficult time in Lindsay's personal life. She accused her fiance Egor Tarabasov of cheating on her, and hinted she was pregnant, in a series of heated Instagram posts over the weekend (23-24Jul16) and a disturbing video showing her pleading for help from a balcony of her London home emerged online. Neighbours called the police after she screamed Egor had strangled and "almost killed" her, but cops ruled no crime had been committed upon arrival.

The 30-year-old flew out of the U.K. on Monday (25Jul16), asking for privacy while she tried to resolve her issues with Egor, and has since been spotted on a yacht off the coast of the Mediterranean island of Sardinia on Tuesday (26Jul16).

She told fans she was "good and well" and issued an apology on Instagram for going public with her relationship drama, adding, "I was acting out of fear and sadness... We all make mistakes. Sadly mine have always been so public. I have done a lot of soul searching in the past years, and I should have been more clear minded rather than distract from the good heart that I have."

Her representative said she wanted Egor, who was spotted moving belongings from her home, to seek therapy for anger management. Lindsay hasn't commented on the pregnancy speculation, but her father Michael says he believes she is with child because, "She hasn't lied to me. She hasn't misled me. I go on what she tells me."
