Lindsay Lohan fan charged with harassment and assault
An obsessed fan has been charged with harassing Lindsay Lohan and assaulting a security guard outside the London theater where the actress is working.
The Mean Girls star, who is currently living in the British capital while she appears in a production of David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow, has allegedly been subjected to a barrage of more than 1,000 texts and social media messages from Daniel Vorderwulbecke.
The 37 year old has been detained by police on suspicion of
harassment, and he is also accused of criminal damage and assault
for allegedly scuffling with a security guard outside the Playhouse
Theater on 11 September (14) after he was barred from watching the
actress rehearse.
During a hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London on
Thursday (16Oct14), prosecutors stated that Vorderwulbecke believes
he is "married to Miss Lohan".
He was released on bail to a specialist mental health hospital
where he will undergo testing to determine whether he is fit to
stand trial.
Vorderwulbecke has yet to enter a plea on the charges. The case has
been adjourned until next month (Nov14).
