Lindsay Lohan and sister criticize Jennifer Lawrence for TV comment

Lindsay Lohan has urged Jennifer Lawrence to "support others" after she made a reference to the Mean Girls actress' former wildchild reputation during a TV interview on Monday (14Dec15).

The Hunger Games star was discussing her habit of vomiting whenever she is overworked or stressed during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, after confessing she had thrown up hours before Sunday's (13Dec15) New York City premiere of her new film Joy.

"I'm a puker," she explained. "I'm a big-time puker. I think I have, like, nervous (energy)...

"I think that I don't stop working, because I'm a show pony. I don't have a choice. So, I just keep going, I think, until eventually my body's just like, 'If we don't make her barf or pass out, she won't stop'."

She then made a quip about Lindsay's troubled past, adding, "I get, like, Lindsay Lohan-grade exhaustion, but without any drugs or alcohol. I'm always in bed early, but I'm still tired."

The passing reference caught the attention of Lindsay's younger sister, Ali Lohan, who took to Twitter on Tuesday (15Dec15) to make it clear she didn't approve of the Oscar winner's remarks.

"I never breathe life into negativity but I stand by my family," the 22 year old wrote. "Disappointed in Jennifer Lawrence. You lost a fan."

The tweet prompted Lindsay to weigh in too, and instead of attacking the Oscar winner, she decided to offer up some words of advice.

"@aliana thank you sister," Lindsay replied. "Maybe who you're referring to should learn to support others."

She then quoted the late Maya Angelou's Still I Rise poem, which features the lines, "You may shoot me with your words, You may cut me with your eyes, You may kill me with your hatefulness, But still, like air, I'll rise."

Jennifer has yet to comment on the Lohan backlash.
