Rapper Lil Wayne is suing his record label boss over claims he is owed $8 million.

The Lollipop hitmaker alleges that co-founder of Cash Money Records, Bryan 'Birdman' Williams, owes him $8 million for his latest album, saying the money was supposed to be an advance.

Lil Wayne also claims the record label is violating his contract by withholding his new album, and he will ask a judge to free him of the deal, according to TMZ.com.

He will still produce new music but will not be working with Cash Money Records.
